Currency
The currency used in Morocco is the Moroccan dirham, abbreviated as MAD (which stands for Moroccan Dirham).
The dirham is issued in coins and banknotes, with coins coming in denominations of 1, 2, 5, and 10 dirhams, and banknotes coming in denominations of 20, 50, 100, and 200 dirhams.
It is recommended to exchange your currency to Moroccan dirhams upon arrival in Morocco, as it is not widely available outside of the country. Exchange services are available at airports, banks, and currency exchange offices throughout Morocco. It’s also a good idea to inform your bank and credit card company of your travel plans to Morocco to avoid any issues with transactions or withdrawals.
